Hannah Whitish led a defensive barrage that helped the Barneveld girls basketball team turn a two-point halftime deficit into a victory Monday night.
The University of Nebraska recruit scored 26 points, and led a pressure defense that forced numerous turnovers, as the Eagles scored 42 points in the second half on their way to a 67-60 victory over host Oregon.
Whitish made three 3-point baskets for Barneveld (5-0). Her cousin, Mia Whitish, totaled 18 points on 11-for-13 shooting from the line, and Teegan Pickarts added 13 points.
Oregon (2-3) got 13 points from Ellen McCorkle and 10 apiece from Cassidy Nikolai and Leah Koopman.
